A walk through the fashion distric of the internet part 1

Spring is coming, Spring is coming! Even if it is 3c today, Spring is coming!

I'm in need of clothes. I have been in maternity and in between clothes for 3 years now, it's time for real grown up clothes.

So a took a cup of coffee, fired up my laptop, got on the net and went to Elle.com for some news on what will be trendy for this spring.

Oh crap! The 80s are still here, maybe I should go back and get pregnant again?

Luckily for me, I have never been a big follower of trends. But I think that with a little imagination I can come up with something.
Yes I'm looking for grown up clothes, I just turn 30 and I look like I'm 15 when I wear only a pair of jean and a simple t-shirt. One of my hubby's coworker asked him how old was is teenager (referring to me) after seeing his coffee mug with a photo of my 2 kids and myself on it.

So I'm on a mission to find clothes that will make me look grown up.

Oh crap ! Most of all of the dresses I'm seeing are design to make a woman look like she is 18 again. Good, now I'll look even younger.

Just stop looking at the clothes and look at the jewelry. You make jewelry anyway and it's good to know what is IN and what is OUT.

According to Elle.com, charm bracelets are still IN, they did get a little face lift with the help of bigger and bolder charms. Hum that's good!

The big hoop earrings are still IN, I haven't worn earrings in 3 years! Little kids and earrings are not good friends.

Metallic colors are IN and it seems that big an bold in IN too.

I'm leaving Elle.com, I need real fashion that real woman can wear to go to the grocery store.

Egypthian midnight ...

I had this brass stamping for almost a year and I didn't know what to do with it, until a few days ago. I was looking at one of my ancient Egypt coffee table books and tada!
This idea came to me.

I have to admit I wanted to keep it for myself , but I will gladly part with it if it goes to a good home.

Jewelry tutorials and a new website has been my projects for this week.

I'm venturing off into the world of jewelry tutorials. All of this because of a friend who is starting to make her own jewelry. She was looking for online jewelry tutorials, but could not find one that she liked.

So after a night of Dungeons and Dragons (yes that's what I do when I'm not beading), I decided to try and make a tutorial.

So introducing....

My fruity earrings tutorial.

All of my tutorial can be found at my new website: www.thejewelssop.com

Some new jewelry added to the shop

The new jewelry is here! The new jewelry is here!

Yes I happy...come to think of it I'm always happy when I make new jewelry.

Pendent, bracelets, necklace oh my where to start

Let's start with Malachite...

But what is Malachite Jewels ? I can hear you ask.

"Malachite was used as a mineral pigment in green paints from antiquity until about 1800. The pigment is moderately lightfast, very sensitive to acids and varying in colour.

It is also used for decorative purposes, such as in the Malachite Room in the Hermitage which features a huge malachite vase. "The Tazza", one of the largest pieces of malachite in North America and a gift from Tsar Nicholas II, stands as the focal point in the center of the room of Linda Hall Library." Source wikipedia.org

Malachite is soft so it is sensitive to: heat, acids, ammonia and hot water. This means, do not clean the house , pet ,car or cooking while wearing it.

This is a lovely pendent I made using Malachite, wire and tiny silver plated beads.

$18.00 for sale here: BUY ME!

This bracelet is called Malachite insanity . Why ? Because there is about 180 jump rings in it.
If you would like to have this bracelet, you can have it here: BUY ME!

I will be working on some new designs this week. In the new jewelry side of the shop I will be adding a new necklace made of copper and Amethyst chip beads, a wire crocheted pendent with malachite beads, one or two mermaid bracelets.
A few rings and earrings will also show up, there so fast and fun to do. Fun to wear too.
I will also be making a SALE section in my shop. Sometime you just need to make some room.
